Job Description    Job Purpose:

To enact the role of Simulator Pilot in order to provide reliable technical training, flight data processing and administrative support to the Training Specialist
Duties, Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
• Work with the Head of Training & Standards and respective Training Specialists to design and develop the simulation modules for ATC training courses
• Configure the simulator and deliver exercise scenarios in accordance with Pilot SOPs and international phraseology standards
• Develop and test airspace, aircraft performance and exercise parameters required by the Head of Training & Standards to ensure accuracy of training delivery
• Support the Head of Training & Standards in identifying training needs for Pseudo Pilots when new simulator equipment is installed to ensure that resulting simulation programs remain relevant
• Identify and report issues with training equipment in use and simulator failures (hardware and software) for timely action to minimise disruption of service delivery
• Supervise and work with student ATCOs to provide pseudo pilot service to the Training Specialist
• Maintain own competencies and currency of ratings and endorsements to ensure subject matter expertise remain up to date and valid
• Perform additional responsibilities that may arise from time to time to meet operational and / or organisational requirements
• Safety responsibilities and accountabilities of this position are detailed in the Safety Management Manual of the organization. The Job holder is required to maintain awareness and knowledge in relation to their safety responsibilities associated with their job function
In coordination with the Head of Training; design, develop and deliver the simulation modules for ATC courses.

• Prepare simulator training program with input from ATSI’s.
• Prepare the simulator exercises.
• Configure the simulator for the appropriate training activity.
• Deliver exercise scenarios by providing pilot’s Standard Operational Procedures (SOPs) and phraseology in accordance with ICAO and UAE GCAA

Develop and test airspace, aircraft performance and exercises parameters as required by the Head of Training.

• Create and develop simulator parameters such as drawing of airspace, modifying airport layouts, weather patterns and other required data to meet Abu Dhabi Airports and UAE General Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) requirements.
• Support the Head of Training in conducting Training Needs Analyses to ensure that resulting simulation programs remain relevant, up-to-date, and accurate, and that they focus on meeting the operational business needs of Abu Dhabi Airports.

Provide ATC simulator technical maintenance support.

• Keep track of the hardware and software Maintenance Schedule.
• Identify technical faults and follow up with corrective actions.
• Liaise and brief the Head of Training regularly on the performance of the ATC simulator and its readiness for training (RFT).
• Plan, follow-up, action and make recommendations and implement agreed measures to ensure fail proof operation of the simulator for delivery of Air Traffic Control training.
• Co-ordinate, schedule and implement technical updates and manage the technical documentation associated with the simulator to minimize simulator failures.
• Identify, analyze and correct simulator failures (hardware and software) to minimize disruption of service delivery

Provide ATC simulator staff training support.

• Train and evaluate new Pseudo Pilots and students on simulator operations to maintain the high standard of training delivery.
Qualification    Educational Qualification:
• Diploma in Aviation or ATC
Professional Certifications:
• ICAO Level 4 English language proficiency
Experience    Experience:
• 3 years ATM experience preferably in a training/facilitation role within the area of expertise
Special Technical Skills:
• Knowledge of the following preferred:
